SMS Presents: Mentoring Program Applications 2021
Applications for the Sydney Marketing Society 2021 Mentoring Program are now OPEN!
SMS are looking for determined, self-motivated students to be paired with industry professionals in their field of interest, who will mentor students through their professional development.
If successful in your application, you will form an invaluable one-on-one relationship with the mentor that you are matched with. They will provide you with guidance and advice on any specific career and uni questions you may have. Whether you are still deciding on a career path, or trying to increase your chances of a successful application for a particular role - you will receive tailored insights from your mentor that are most helpful to you. Gain interpersonal skills, an understanding of the corporate world and knowledge relevant to your professional interests through a genuine and personalised mentor-mentee relationship.
The mentors involved in this program come from a variety of marketing sectors such as FMCG, Media, Digital, Strategy, Research, and Technology, and represent companies like Deloitte, Nestlé, Dior, KPMG, Google, Coca-Cola, L’Oreal, Accenture and MORE to be announced! Do not miss this opportunity to form genuine and long-lasting connections with experienced industry professionals who will help foster your career development.
Applications open on the 15th of July at 9am, and close on the 14th of August, at 11:59pm. Late applications will not be accepted.

➤ 9th November, 6-8pm: Closing Event
This program is open to ALL students at The University of Sydney – you just need to have a genuine interest in marketing! Successful applicants will be emailed in the week following the application closing date.
Students who are accepted into the program will be required to pay a $10 administration fee for participation.

SMS x Deloitte Present: Case Competition - Enterprise Tech
Want to try your hand at a Case Competition AND potentially score a Vacationer position at Deloitte?
Here’s your chance, with SMS x Deloitte Present: Case Competition - Enterprise Tech! You’ll have the chance to design a strategy that optimises the operations for a fictional business around enterprise tech, all with the help of Deloitte!
If successful, you will secure a one-on-one coffee chat with a Deloitte Partner, and could move one step closer to securing an exciting Summer Vacationer role at Deloitte!
You’ll work in teams of up to 4 to develop a strategy for a case around enterprise technology, which can involve streamlining workflows, improving communication, and providing access to data for a fictional business.
- Prepare a 5 minute presentation with a slide deck and voiceover to answer the case questions. 8 teams will be selected to move onto the Semi-Finals.
- Semi-Finals will be held in person at the Business School, with judges from Deloitte in attendance. Teams will prepare a 10 minute presentation with a 5 minute Q&A for our judges, who will give their feedback and select 4 teams to proceed to Finals.
- Finals will be held at Deloitte’s Head Office in the Sydney CBD, and will be judged by a Deloitte Partner. Teams will prepare a 10 minute presentation and a 5 minute Q&A, with the winning team to be selected by Deloitte.
- Teams must have 3-4 members
- One form submission per team
